Bring the Pearson VUE confirmation and accepted current photo identification. Your booking name must match the identification exactly. Recheck the official rules during test week.
Protect the sitting before you leave home
- Open the confirmation email and check the centre, date and arrival instruction.
- Pack one accepted current photo ID. Digital copies and expired passports are not accepted.
- Compare your given name and surname on the booking with the ID character by character.
- Check the route and add time for the centre's check-in process.
- If you have approved access arrangements, read the booking instructions attached to them rather than using the standard flow.
Know the screen before the clock matters

You may review Section A during its minutes. Once Section B begins, you cannot return. Section B then has its own -minute clock.
Run the plan you have already rehearsed
- Check pace after Passages , and , not after every click.
- Select the current best answer before flagging because wrong answers lose no marks.
- Enter Section B with Section A closed in your head. The clocks and tasks are separate.
- Spend the opening essay minutes defining the dispute and building the strongest counter-case before writing full paragraphs.
Worked example The last Section A decision
With minutes seconds left, you have one unanswered question and two flagged questions. The unanswered question sits on the current passage. One flag has the note 'B says all; passage says most'. The other has no note.
Why this works: Answer the current question, revisit the precise scope flag, then use any remaining time on the vague flag. Leave no blank.
Why the tempting route fails: Opening the vague flag first spends time reconstructing the whole problem while an actionable comparison waits.
Record a problem while evidence is fresh
- Raise the issue with test-centre staff immediately when possible.
- Record the approximate time, section, workstation and what you observed.
- Keep any incident or case number given by staff.
- Use the Consortium's current problem or special-consideration process promptly after the sitting.
- Describe the event and its duration rather than guessing how many marks it cost.
