When do LNAT results come out?
Sit the LNAT on or before 26 January and your result is emailed in mid February. Sit it later and it arrives in mid August. Universities see it before you do.
Two result windows
| Your test date | Your result email |
|---|---|
| On or before 26 January | Mid February |
| After 26 January | Mid August |
An autumn 2026 sitting falls in the mid-February 2027 window. LNAT gives no exact day.
When universities get it
Tests sat from 1 September to 20 October are released to universities on 21 October. After that, universities can download your score and essay within 24 hours. You do not send them yourself, so keep your UCAS ID correct in your LNAT profile.
Read the number
Your score is Section A, out of 42. The essay goes to universities separately and adds no marks. There is no pass mark.
Worked example Interpret a result
You score 25/42. One course's offer-holder average was 28. Are you rejected?
Why this works: No. An average sits in the middle of a group, so plenty of offer-holders scored below it.
Why the tempting route fails: Calling 25 "three marks below the cutoff" turns an average into a rule.
