When do LNAT results come out?
If you sit LNAT on or before 26 January, the official results policy says your result is emailed in mid February. Tests after 26 January receive results in mid August. LNAT does not give an exact release date. Universities see your result before you do, so waiting for your email does not mean they are still waiting. Official source (accessed 2026-09-24).

These are the standing rules on the official LNAT results page, checked 24 September 2026. An autumn 2026 sitting therefore falls in the mid-February 2027 window under that policy. This is an application of the published rule, not an announced February day or time. Recheck the official page for changes.
When can universities download it?
The first batch, covering tests from 1 September to 20 October, becomes available from 21 October. After that, LNAT says universities can download the score and essay within 24 hours of completion. That is availability to the university, not a promise of an admissions decision. Source: official LNAT results page.
You do not send the score or essay yourself. The official FAQs say to keep your LNAT profile and UCAS personal identifier accurate so results can be matched. If something is incorrect, follow the official account and contact instructions rather than creating another test booking.
Read the number without inventing a cutoff
The Section A score is out of 42. The essay is considered separately by universities; it is not added to that total. There is no universal LNAT pass mark. The test format and FAQs below establish those distinctions.
Worked example Interpret a result
Original teaching example. A candidate receives 25/42 and finds a historical offer-holder mean of 28 for a particular course. Does that prove rejection?
Why this works: No. A mean describes a group, not its minimum. Check the year, applicant group and the university’s current selection policy. Without a published distribution, the mean also cannot give a percentile.
Why the tempting route fails: Subtracting 25 from 28 and declaring the candidate three marks below the cutoff changes an average into a rule that the evidence never supplied.
If the email has not arrived
- Check whether your sitting belongs to the February or August window.
- Check your inbox and spam folder and the email address recorded in your account.
- Check the official results page for a notice. Do not rely on another candidate receiving an email earlier.
- Use the official LNAT contact route for an unresolved result query. Include the identifying details it requests, not public posts containing your candidate information.
Receiving a result is separate from receiving an offer. Use course-specific evidence for decisions, and do not book an unauthorised repeat simply because you are unhappy with a practice mark or have not yet received an email. The results page warns that an unauthorised second sitting is invalid.
