Method
- Your median is the middle of your scores (the average of the middle two if there is an even number); your range is lowest to highest.
- The measurement error comes from the LNAT technical reports: across ten test forms the standard error of one sitting was 2.77 to 2.98 marks.
- The self-reported cases are shown as they were posted. Two are official-simulator scores (24 both times) with real results (35 both times); two are guesses before results (20 to 25, then 35; 32 to 35, then 30). Guesses and practice tests are kept apart.
Uncertainty and limits
- Four posts are not a sample: people post surprising results, and two came from the same thread.
- Commercial practice papers differ in difficulty and none has published how its scores relate to real LNAT results.
- Repeating the same practice test inflates scores because questions become familiar.

What the answer means
The answer summarises your practice honestly and explains how much a single score can move. It cannot predict your real score. No public dataset pairs practice and real scores for enough people to build a fair conversion, so we do not offer one.
How much one real LNAT score can vary
The standard error of measurement: how far a candidate’s score on one sitting typically sits from their underlying level. Published for each historical test form.

Questions people ask
Is the LNAT harder than the practice tests?
There is no published comparison. A few candidates report scoring much higher on the day than on the official practice test, but those posts are selected and unverified.
How much does an LNAT score vary between attempts?
The 2014-16 technical reports put the standard error of one sitting at about 2.8 to 3.0 marks, so two honest attempts a few marks apart are normal.
What should I do with my practice scores?
Use them to find which question types cost marks rather than to predict a result. Timed, unseen papers tell you most.
