Method
- The fee depends only on where you sit: £75 at UK and EU test centres, £120 at centres outside the EU.
- A bursary waives the fee for UK applicants on the 16-19 Bursary, top-rate EMA or Adult Learning Grant, those living with a family member on Income Support, income-based JSA, ESA or Universal Credit including an element for them, those living with a family member on child tax credits (named on the award, household income under £30,000), and those on Pupil Premium or free school meals; and for EU applicants on an equivalent benefit. It applies only at UK and EU test centres.
- The latest day to apply is your booking deadline (or sit-by date, where LNAT gives no booking date) minus the ten days LNAT says bursary processing can take, or minus seven days for a voucher.
Uncertainty and limits
- LNAT's fees page heads its figures 'the 2025-25 LNAT'; they are the fees shown during the 2026-27 cycle. Confirm the amount when you book.
- Apply-by dates are planning dates from LNAT's stated processing times, not LNAT deadlines. Test slots fill up, so apply earlier.

What the answer means
The answer is what you will pay, how you pay it, and the last sensible day to start a bursary or voucher application. It cannot approve a bursary: LNAT decides after checking your evidence. EU benefit equivalence is judged on LNAT's own form.

How much does the LNAT cost?
£75 at UK and EU test centres and £120 at test centres outside the EU. The fee depends on where you sit, not your nationality or where you live, and is charged in pounds when you book.
Who can get an LNAT bursary?
UK applicants on the 16-19 Bursary, top-rate EMA or Adult Learning Grant; those living with a family member on Income Support, income-based JSA, ESA or Universal Credit including an element for them; those living with a family member on child tax credits, named on the award, household income under £30,000; and those on Pupil Premium or free school meals. EU applicants on an equivalent benefit also qualify. Applicants from outside the EU cannot.
How long does an LNAT bursary take?
Up to ten days from when LNAT receives your form. You must apply before you book, and you book using the e-voucher number LNAT emails you.
Can I use an LNAT bursary at a test centre outside the EU?
No. Bursaries cannot be used at test centres outside the EU, where the fee is higher.
Can I get a refund if I don't sit the LNAT?
No. Payments are not refunded if you decide not to sit. You can reschedule free until 12 noon UK time on the second working day before your test.
Can I pay for the LNAT without a card?
Yes, with an LNAT voucher, which takes at least a week to process. Candidates paying from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Iran, Kenya, Lebanon, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Tanzania or Uganda must use one.
